About us

Environmental Test Services was set up by two former Ferranti test engineers, John Fennell and Steve Abraham, in 1995.

The year before, Ferranti had closed its Bracknell-based environmental engineering laboratory which John and Steve had managed.

John and Steve bought and installed the contents of the laboratory at new premises in nearby Woodley, on the outskirts of Reading. In their new enterprise, they soon gained UKAS Accreditation again.

In the last ten years, John and Steve (plus two new recruits) have improved and increased the facilities and range of environmental testing offered at the new Woodley laboratory.

Today, Environmental Test Services is an owner-managed independent small business which understands the importance of offering a pro-active and personal approach to individual engineers, in order to help them achieve their objectives.

Environmental Test Services has UKAS Accreditation for a wide range of environmental testing (see UKAS Accreditation). It also holds IECQ-CECC and BS9000 Accreditation for electronic component assessment approval, and is able to offer certified qualification and maintenance test support.
